With From Hand to Heart funding, more than 140 annual scholarships are provided so that junior and senior high (and some elementary) students can continue their studies for the upcoming year.
The scholarships cover required costs for mandatory school uniforms, required backpacks, gym shoes and other school supplies, plus school fees. These funded expenses are essential for getting many of the poorest local teenagers to stay in school through high school graduation and, in turn, position them for the potential of a better life. Community service is required of the students who receive scholarships.
