From Hand to Heart tends to be the local funding source of last recourse for emergency health needs and home/infrastructure repair emergencies. Recently, these expenditures included an artificial eye for a young girl, broken leg surgical metal for a young boy, drainage pipes for a flooded soccer field (a baby fell in a drainage ditch and drowned), improvements to dangerous open drains surrounding the school, and much-needed house repairs during the rainy season. FHTH has supplied a new house or two in some years but the average cost of $10,000 each currently makes this a limited option.
